This Air Jordan 1 High "Varsity Red" Colorway Features Chenille Swooshes
Tongues are treated with corduroy materials for even more texture.
Instead of simply bringing back classic Air Jordan 1 retro colorways every year, Jordan Brand has mainly focused on reimagining the silhouette with fresh color palettes and materials for the modern day consumer. For Spring 2022, the GOAT’s sportswear brand has intentions of keeping this streak going, and one of the offerings that will be rolled out to the public is this Air Jordan 1 High “Varsity Red” for the ladies.
The palette here is somewhat reminiscent of the Nike Dunk High “University Red” or the Air Jordan 1 Hi’ 85 “New Beginnings” colorway, but it features deviations in materials that make it unique. Most of the upper is cooked up with smooth leathers, the overlays of which are dialed to a “Varsity Red” hue while the toe boxes and quarters are left white. Swooshes are infused with a bold red chenille material while the tongues are designed with corduroy textures. “Light Iron Ore” accents follow suit and poke out on the collars, tongues, and interior lining. Stringing together its look are midsoles that are painted with a “Sail” hue and treading that is doused in more “Varsity Red.”
Early reports have these dropping sometime in April 2022 for $170 USD, but Nike still has to confirm this.
