Burberry Reimagines Classic Outerwear For FW22 Pre-Collection
The first in the label’s new “Friends and Family” creative series.

Burberry and Riccardo Tisci present its Fall/Winter 2022 Pre-Collection and the first in the house’s new “Friends and Family” creative series that will see them partner with inspiring creatives from unexpected backgrounds every season.
For this collection the label works with Lea T, a long-standing collaborator and model for numerous Burberry campaigns, who helps style garments and bring a personal creative identity to the collection.
The collection itself sees Burberry venture outdoors. Outerwear is reimagined with oversized silhouettes and new detailing, while twill short-sleeve shirts, woolen skirts and graphic-heavy T-Shirts celebrate British craftsmanship.
A tailored overcoat with botanical sketch prints captures the attention, as does a panelled car coat which fuses signature cotton gabardine with camel hair and wool. Color-block padded styles serve as a nod to the outdoors — including a geometric print overshirt and a dark truffle brown parka with a detachable hood — as Burberry’s knitwear elevation continues, with a cable-knit sweater boasting crystal embellishments and a dark truffle brown wool sweater.
“I wanted to explore a different experience bringing my collections to life, so I have decided to open up my pre-collection to a new creative voice each season, someone special to me who inspires me and whose unique creativity surrounds me in my personal life,” explains Riccardo Tisci, Burberry Chief Creative Officer.
“Creativity means freedom and it is about empathy and communication with others. It is your voice, your identity, something inside you which you want to share with others. So, I was excited about the conversation that would happen when our creative worlds come together and see how their interpretation of my identity comes to life,” he continues.
Release information is yet to be confirmed, but you can keep up-to-date with all Burberry releases via its official Instagram account.
