Montblanc Takes Inspiration From "God of Snow Mountain" for 1858 Frosty Red Series
Offering up a world timer, chronograph and automatic.
Montblanc has dropped a trio of red-dialed 1858 Series watches celebrating the highest snow-capped peaks of Shuangfeng National Park in China.
The Montblanc 1858 Series Frost Peak Red Limited Editions take their inspiration from the highest peak in Yunnan known as “God of Snow Mountain” or Kawagebo, which offers a “frosty red” appearance when viewed from the foot at dawn, represented in the watches by red lacquer dials.
The mountain – which stands at 6,740m – is the site of an annual pilgrimage and due to its cultural and religious significance all climbing is prohibited.
The series is headed up by a 42mm titanium Geospheres model displaying worldtime via rotating north and south hemispheres on the dial, limited to 188 pieces.

Each of the three watched feature bi-direction rotating ceramic bezels with cardinal point compass markings and laser engraved color casebacks depicting the the summit of Kawagebo and the colorful Fengma flags.
The series is completed with a matching 42mm stainless steel chronograph and 40mm stainless steel automatic model, each limited to 858 pieces. The series is available via Montblanc now, priced CNY 48,000, CNY 37,300 and CNY 21,300 respectively (approximately $7,500, $5,800 and $3,300 USD).
