Following the recent holiday season restock of the A-COLD-WALL* x Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star Lugged, Samuel Ross teased a new collaboration between his innovative label and Italian footwear brand, ROA. While the brand hasn’t been quite active with joint efforts in recent months, Ross has been busy developing his craft of functional sculptures as he debuted two new furniture collections with the Friedman Benda gallery for Design Miami 2021.

Despite Ross’ number of ventures, the British designer linked with the technical footwear brand to deliver a duo of high cut pairs decked with reflective details. Inspired by the Neal and Andreas silhouettes, the first pair dubbed as the STRAND is sculpted with a hiking boot structure in mind as it opts for metallic hooks in place of the eyestays looped over with blood orange rope laces. The rest of the uppers mesh together with a blend of heavy-duty fabrics and reflective details all in shades of gray over an off-white midsole with touches of orange.

The DUOMO pair is a cleaner construction preferring an overlay lace sheath buckled down and using similar materials as the former with both a black and blue variation seen.

More details on the collaboration release are yet to be announced.
