The Darkside Initiative's New Portland Store is Open for Business
This will be the streetwear and sneaker retailer’s first location outside of California.
After 21 strong years of business, The Darkside Initiative is expanding its brick-and-mortar ventures to the Pacific Northwest. The streetwear and footwear retailer helmed by Colin Miller has opened a brand new retail space in Portland, Oregon. Given that “Rip City” is well-known for its art scene, abundance of delectable food spots and creative community, opening up shop here has been a longtime goal for the streetwear and footwear retailer.
The new space features 2,000 sq ft. of space and is erected on the east side of Portland in the Burnside neighborhood. One the windows of the store is embellished with a white mural that is over branded with the store’s namesake. The retail destination is designed with a cold and minimalistic approach as it bears industrial gray walls with woodgrain panels. Apparel products are displayed on multiple hanging racks as well as charcoal gray counters that come branded with “The Darkside Initiative” logos. Everything from Acronym to Nike to Stone Island is included included in the store’s catalog. Footwear is given its own moment as the various offerings from brands like Nike, adidas, Vans and more float in three lengthy rows.
