Nike Dunk High "University Red" Serves Up OG "Be True To Your School" Style
A modern update for an OG 1985 Dunk High colorway.
Nike is set to release the Dunk High in an original “University Red” colorway. First debuted all the way back in 1985 as part of Nike Basketball‘s “Be True to Your School” pack, the “University Red” was created for St. John’s University, the alma mater of NBA greats Chris Mullen, Metta World Peace and the late Malik Sealy. When Nike Sportswear brought the Dunk back in 2020, the Dunk Low “Varsity Red” was one of the first styles to release — a testament to the simple red and white color scheme’s staying power — but this OG style is sure to please Dunk purists.
As expected, the Dunk High “University Red” combines a sporty red mudguard, eyestays, heel, heel tabs, collar flaps and Swooshes with elegant white leather toeboxes, quarter panels and collars. Nylon tongues are done up in white and adorned with a red badge, collars are trimmed with red and white midsoles work with red outsoles to round off the look.
At the time of writing, a release date for the Nike Dunk High “University Red” has yet to be announced, but it’ll likely roll out this fall. The MSRP is set at $110 USD.
