Continuing with its Kicking It series, Michael Jerome Reece-Page, also known by his moniker “Venom”, visits the London-based retailer Presented By store powered by Crep Protect for the latest episode of The PB Show.

For the MMA star, it’s the hands-free Nike Go FlyEase which tops his list for most comfortable sneaker of the year. Presented with a lineup of sought-after kicks, the Nike Dunk High “Chicago” and Air Jordan 1 “Hyper Royal” initially catches Venom’s eye. “When you see a trainer you can already see what you’d drop them with — I’m already thinking about my wardrobe.” Despite his love for the silhouette, Reece-Page opts for the Off-White x Nike Blazer Mid and the Off-White x Nike Air Presto both from “The Ten” collection. “Simple design but it looks different. If you spotted them on someone’s foot you’d be interested right away.”

Currently ranked #2 in the Bellator Welterweight division, Reece-Page is recognized in the MMA community for his unorthodox fighting style originating from freestyle kickboxing, but he still has plans to join the UFC. “I do believe one day I’ll end up in the UFC, but for now I’m contracted to Bellator and have some unfinished business there.”

Renowned for his iconic celebrations especially his viral Ash Ketchum tribute, he explains that they’re not just a spontaneous act. “I like to try and keep things relevant. When I did my Pokémon celebration, it happened just after Pokémon Go dropped.” As well as demonstrating his signature kick, he breaks down the hobbies he’s taken up during the past year in lockdown. “Instead of being idle, I wanted to learn something. One thing I did was buy decks and started learning how to DJ and how to play the guitar”
