Joe Exotic is Selling His Personal Belongings as NFTs From Behind Bars
Auctioning off several one-of-a-kind items featured on the show.

The latest celebrity to infiltrate the crypto space is Joe Exotic, the viral star of Netflix’s 2020 true crime series Tiger King. The former exotic animal handler — who is currently serving a 22-year sentence for several wildlife violations and for plotting to kill rival zoo operator Carole Baskin — is launching his own line of NFTs from prison.
Exotic has partnered with crypto members club MORE with help from his lawyer Brad Small to auction off several one-of-a-kind items alongside complementary 3D renderings. Up for grabs are Exotic’s iconic fringed leather jacket, his pistol and holster, a bikini worn by adult film star Rachel Starr on the show, 15 digital trading cars, a black leather jacket and pants set and authentic audio recordings from inside the federal prison in Fort Worth, Texas, where he is currently being held.
“I hope whoever purchases my favorite belongings is able to give them a well-deserved home,” Exotic said in a press release. “Whether you love me or hate me for what you think I’ve done, there’s no doubt that everyone wants a piece of The Tiger King!”
The former big cat zookeeper follows in the footsteps of other controversial online figures who are capitalizing on the blockchain craze. Logan Paul, who was once voted the second most-hated internet personality, released several NFTs earlier this year, while Exotic’s rival Baskin launched her own crypto coin last month.
Exotic’s auction will be hosted on the digital marketplace Mintable on June 18. Winners will receive a 3D digital model of the collectible and will be shipped the real-life item with authentication papers.
In other news, NBCU is developing a limited series based on the docuseries titled Joe Exotic.
