Gundam and Nike SB are Teaming Up for a Duo of Dunk High Collaborations
Colorways inspired by the RX-0 Unicorn and the 02 Banshee from the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn novel are in the works.

Following up on the opening ceremony of its life-sized Freedom Gundam Statue in Shanghai, Gundam is now shining a light on its impending project with Nike. Up next for the popular fictional anime series is a two-pronged Nike SB Dunk High capsule that pays homage to the RX-0 Unicorn and the 02 Banshee from the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn — a novel that will be celebrating its 15 year anniversary in September.
Both pairs are treated with robot-like colors and design elements atop the toe boxes in an effort to best visually articulate the look of the RX-0 and 02 Banshee Destroy Mode suits. The former is served up crisp white leathers that run from the toe tips to the rear ankle flaps, and come contrasted by dark navy collars and bold red piping, laces and Gundam branding that is planted onto the lower lateral heels. Removable Swooshes have been modified to a golden hue and intricately styled to mimic the look of Gundam’s V-Fin antennas. Its release sibling falls on the darker side of the spectrum and instead features a black and blue-grey upper that is accented with hits of orange detailing.
Given that the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn anniversary is slated to arrive on September 26, 2021, a release could likely go down around this time, but Nike has yet to confirm this.
