Watch the First Trailer for 'Clifford the Big Red Dog'
A live-action adaptation of the classic children’s book.
The first official trailer has released for Clifford the Big Red Dog, Paramount‘s live-action adaptation of the classic children’s book series written by Norman Bridwell first published in 1963. The gigantic CGI labrador is seen swallowing pugs and terrorizing the streets of New York in all its goofy charm.
The Clifford film adaptation directed by Walt Becker follows a middle schooler named Emily Elizabeth who struggles to fit in at school. Emily stumbles upon a magical animal rescue center one day where she finds a small red puppy who becomes her new best friend Clifford. Told her pup will be as large as “how much you love him,” Clifford balloons to T-Rex-size proportions. An evil genetics company catches wind of Clifford, leading Emily and her Uncle Casey on an epic adventure across the Big Apple.
In a wholesome gesture, the Clifford Movie Twitter account posted its trailer with a caption stating that for every like or share, they will donate “$1 to Best Friends Animal Society, up to $20,000.”
Though the trailer just premiered on Tuesday, it has blipped on the radar of eager internet trolls as seen by the tweets below. While some question the premise for the live-action remake, Clifford the Big Red Dog is a humorous children’s film everyone can enjoy whether taken at face value or just for laughs.
