Versace Debuts New Greca Sneaker for SS21

Donatella Versace has the formula for a “pandemic-proof” brand, and Versace‘s Spring/Summer 2021 collection goes to show that the Italian fashion house isn’t going anywhere. In the spirit of making a mark more than ever before, the luxury label has just released its brand new SS21 sneaker: the Greca.
Available in low or high-top variants, the Greca sneaker comes in a silhouette that’s very familiar and inspired by other canvas or leather sneakers with minimal branding. However, Versace doesn’t do minimal branding, instead, it covers its products in house motifs and patterns that make these shoes identifiably Versace even from miles away. True to form, you can find the Greca covered in a deep-sea “Trésor de la Mer” design, its iconic “Barocco” print, and a “Medusa Amplified” logo repeat pattern, as well as leather pairs that are stamped with contrasting Versace block letter branding and others that are plain, colored in hues of blue and pink, and sport a small logo on the rear quarter.
Regardless of the Versace Greca style you opt for, you’ll notice a midsole that’s debossed with the house’s Greca logo over and over. On the underside, a Medusa detail and a tonal logo can also be seen. Lastly, for the high-top pairs, Versace adds a logo-adorned roundel on the lateral side in a similar fashion to other canvas high-tops.
