Sony Releases Improved Version of Its Reon Pocket Wearable Air Conditioner
Twice the endothermic performance and now with a WARM mode.

Sony has just updated its Reon Pocket wearable air conditioner. Said to double the endothermic performance of the previous model, the Reon 2 now features a stainless steel contact pad that directly draws heat from your skin, and is now also sweat resistant so that it can also be worn during various forms of light exercise and outdoor activities.
Charged via USB-C, the Reon Pocket 2 has both a WARM and COLD mode which allows for all-year-round usage. This update also allows for smartphone connectivity where settings 1-4 can be selected via Bluetooth — COOL mode on level one lasts up to 20 hours whereas level four lasts three hours on a full charge. The WARM mode also has a battery life of 20 hours on level one but sees an increase to 10 hours on level four.
The most impressive thing about the updated version is that Sony has also partnered with a number of fashion brands to make Reon-compatible clothing. Brands like Descente Golf, Edifice, Estnation, Musingwear and Le Coq Sportif Golf all have shirts that can accommodate the wearable air conditioner, and if you don’t feel like wearing something from those brands, Sony also has a special neckband attachment.
Priced at approximately $140 USD, the Sony Reon Pocket 2 is currently only available in Japan.
