NEIGHBORHOOD Teases Vans, Suicoke Footwear Collaborations
Two low-key skate sneakers and strappy sandals for summer.
NEIGHBORHOOD isn’t slowing down its collaborative streak, following the forthcoming UNDEFEATED and adidas drop with a new set of bespoke skate shoes and sandals. In partnership with both Vans and Suicoke, the legendary Japanese label is serving up a series of new summer-ready styles informed by its signature stylistic cues.
That this drop is fairly understated should come as no surprise considering NEIGHBORHOOD and Vans’ previous collaborative efforts, which generally focus on graphic accents over quirky design. This holds true for the new partnership, as both the SK8-Hi and Era‘s canvas and suede uppers are rendered in tonal black shades, with contrasting white slogans — “THE FILTH AND THE FURY,” “TOKYO EST 1994” and “NEIGHBORHOOD TECHNICAL APPAREL” — printed atop the rubber midsoles and heels.
Meanwhile, the Suicoke take a slightly more overt tact, printing a KISEE-like silhouette with a dark paisley print. Black straps encircle and lock in the wearer’s foot and heel, while a white NBHD patch joins the Suicoke branding atop the forefoot to emphasize the silhouette’s collaborative nature.
Check NEIGHBORHOOD’s website to get a closer look at the forthcoming footwear and expect more news to arrive shortly. Suicoke confirmed to HYPEBEAST that more information about the sandals will arrive by the end of May.
Even still, plenty of other Suicoke collaborations are on the horizon, including a new John Elliott joint effort and some traumatizing Midorikawa “foot shoes.”
