Official Look at the Nike Kobe 6 Protro "POP"
A bring-back that was oft-spotted on the Mamba during the 2011 postseason.
To honor the great Kobe Bryant, Nike will proceed to roll out an abundance of his signature sneaker colorways. And one of the iterations that will be returning to the market this year is the Kobe 6 Protro “POP” — which is an acronym for “Playoff Pack” as the Mamba was oft-seen rocking this makeup throughout the postseason in 2011.
Scaly textured upper halves of this court-ready offering are mostly presented with a stark white background, and they come assembled with black accents that are dropped off on the side panel’s Swooshes, Kobe‘s signature logo on the tongues as well as the molds that cling to the heels. Alongside all of those features, “Del Sol” accents are integrated onto the interior liners as well as on Bean’s signature towards the backend to match up with his Lakers uniform.
Zoom-cushioned midsoles are wrapped up with a black exterior and come mated with a two-toned outsole that splits between more yellow outers towards the forefoot and white exteriors towards the rear.
So far, these Kobe bring-backs are slated to launch in Japan via Nike SNKRS on April 14 for ¥21,450 (approx. $197 USD). A stateside launch has yet to be announced.
