WWII Smocks Inform Blacksmith's First Made in London Capsule
Limited to 50 pieces per colorway.
For the first instalment of its new Made in London collection, U.K.-based retailer and designers Blacksmith Store has sought inspiration from the attire worn by the U.S. Navy throughout the second World War.
Specifically taking notes from the anti-gas gunner smocks, Blacksmith has crafted its take on the durable jacket using a fine cotton canvas hand-selected from Brisbane Moss, one of Yorkshire’s longest-standing textile firms.
The 001 Smock — as its named — arrives in a boxy cut in either black, “Olive”, “Tan” or “Ecru” and is finished with a set of black buttons made in the Cotswolds by Courtney & Co.
Limited to just 50 pieces of each colorway, Blacksmith’s Made in London 0001 Smock is available to buy now, while stocks last, from the brand’s online webstore, retailing at £89 (approximately $120 USD).
