Apple Patents Mac Pro "Cheese Grater" iPhone Design
Providing maximum airflow.

Part of 77 patents submitted to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Apple is now exploring a familiar 3D structural design for the iPhone. Drawing from the “cheese grater” like look of the Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR, the patent design would help provide maximum airflow.
The illustrations note the design provides rigid strength while ensuring the performance of powerful processors and GPUs of upcoming iPhone models. Multiple cavities can also be formed to maximize the surface area to both allow intersection and restrict interference of components. As with most Apple patents, it is unclear if the Cupertino, California-based tech company will actually bring the design to market.
