Apple has introduced its first-ever touchscreen laptop with the MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display

The redesigned machines feature tandem OLED screens, M5 Pro and M5 Max processors, and the debut of the Dynamic Island on Mac

Pre-orders open today ahead of official availability beginning November 6 starting at $2,899 USD

Apple has officially unveiled the all-new MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display, introducing a built-in touchscreen display to the Mac ecosystem for the very first time. Offered in 14-inch and 16-inch form factors, the flagship pro machine pairs intuitive touch capability with next-generation M5 Pro and M5 Max silicon.

The landmark laptop incorporates a multi-touch sensor embedded directly into the tandem OLED PROLED XDR panel, eliminating latency for fluid gesture navigation, digital illustration, and music production. Backed by a re-engineered hinge for stability, the display achieves up to 2000 nits of peak HDR and SDR brightness, an unprecedented 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 120Hz ProMotion adaptive refresh rates, and expanded color reproduction across P3 and Adobe RGB gamuts.

The redesign also brings the Dynamic Island to macOS, functioning as a dedicated interactive hub for Spotlight, Live Activities, and Siri AI. Housed in a sleeker aluminum enclosure that weighs 3 pounds for the 14-inch variant and 4 pounds for the 16-inch model, the notebook packs a redesigned thermal architecture and up to 24 hours of battery life. Performance is driven by Apple’s M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, which support up to 128GB of unified memory, up to 16TB of fast storage, and dedicated Neural Accelerators per GPU core. Hardware features are rounded out by three Thunderbolt 5 ports, Wi-Fi 7, and an upgraded six-speaker array delivering 50 percent deeper bass.

The touchscreen MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display is available to pre-order starting October 28 via Apple and the Apple Store app, with official in-store availability beginning November 6.
