Snow Peak and JOURNAL STANDARD Relume Remix goyemon's Air Bubble Sandals
Traditional weave meets contemporary comfort.
With more than a few joint efforts under their belts, Snow Peak and JOURNAL STANDARD are once again joining forces. This time, JOURNAL STANDARD’s loungey Relume is taking the reigns, roping in cushy sandal brand goyemon for a special set of summer shoes.
Accompanying an exclusive lineup of shirts and shorts, the two goyemon “Unda” sandals retain the footwear brand’s key characteristic. Drawing from the legacy of Japanese Setta sandals, goyemon elevates the traditional woven footbed and thong strap with white and black dyes, coinciding with the other Snow Peak x JOURNAL STANDARD items.
The brand’s signature air bubble midsole is still in place to ensure maximum comfort, with Snow Peak and “Made in Japan” tags reinforcing the collaborative motif. Interestingly, because these shoes are designed to mimic classic setta shoes with a strap in the middle of the shoe, each one can be interchanged between the right or left foot.
Both styles of goyemon sandal can be pre-ordered for ¥25,300 JPY (approximately $230 USD) apiece via JOURNAL STANDARD parent BAYCREWS’ website before they launch in April.
