New Balance's Sleek 237 to Launch in Color-Blocked "Green"
A striking alternative to the muted debut colorway.

The mix and match New Balance 237 is set to make waves when it launches this weekend, but there’s more than one colorway of the low-top silhouette set to hit stores. New Balance Japan has introduced a new green colorway of the attractively understated sneaker, highlighting an envelope-pushing color palette as progressive as the shoe’s design cues.
Drawing from retro models like the 420, 1300 and even golfing Gator cleats, the 237 is a hodgepodge of playful elements. The suede, mesh and nylon upper sports an appreciably tapered shape, with its clean silhouette mirrored in the angular panels that jut up from the midsole to the rear. There, a warped heel panel plays off the slightly askew shape and sole and one can see the exposed foam behind the tongue and its retro tag.
Like its counterpart, the 273 “Green” will debut for $85 USD on New Balance’s website February 6.
Even more adventurous New Balance models are on the horizon it seems, as collaborator Salehe Bembury recently teased an animal-printed Test Run Project 3.0.
