Salehe Bembury Reveals New Balance Test Run Project 3.0 Collaboration
Featuring a wide array of colors, patterns, prints and branded details.

Salehe Bembury has revealed a collaborative take on New Balance‘s Test Run Project 3.0. A highly technical running/hiking shoe, one that’s often spotted on Bembury’s feet as he chronicles his daily hikes on Instagram, the Test Run Project 3.0 is crafted from sustainable materials and uses a collage-like multi panel build, making it a perfect canvas for the designer’s signature bright colors and bold prints.
Much like his well-received 2002R collaboration from 2020 — a model that garnered serious “shoe of the year” talk — not an inch of space is wasted on the Test Run’s upper. Leopard print covers the majority of the forefoot and a piece of the quarter, while gray suede and white leather add extra layers on the toe. Moving to the rear, hits of light blue and green grace the heel.
The Test Run’s signature detail is provided by its zig-zagging strap system, here bolstered by a yellow strip on the lateral side with a fingerprint-like black pattern, similar in style if not shade to what was on the heel of the aforementioned 2002R. The remaining strap is done up in white with repeating New Balance logos, dipping and diving across the top of the foot before coming to rest under the collar.
Finishing touches of flair are supplied by a blaze orange tongue tag with a “Salehe Bembury” spellout, a white/gold FreshFoam midsole with a marbled pattern and a yellow Vibram rubber outsole. The shoes also come with a large co-branded leather hangtag.
As of now, no release date or pricing information is available, and the model may well be a sample. However, given Bembury’s propensity to tease his collaborations on social media you can expect more info in the coming weeks.
