adidas Originals Continues City Series With Madrid-Themed Release
Paying tribute to the Spanish capital through a tonal brown colorway.
adidas Originals has revealed its latest City Series release, following last year’s Barcelona-inspired colorway by heading south to Madrid. The new arrival is constructed from a tonal brown upper, recalling the original Madrid-themed City Series releases of the ’70s and ’80s when the line became a terrace culture staple.
The sneaker itself features a tumbled leather upper dressed in a brown colorway, which is then offset with subtle detailing in tonal colors. The sneaker’s suede T-toe box overlay is dressed in a darker shade, while the Three Stripe branding appears in a lighter note of “Mesa.” This lighter tone also extends to the heel tab, while gold branding appears on the tongue and side wall.
The senaker is finished with its distinctive midsole, which recalls the 1970s Trimm Trab sneaker — another terrace favorite. For the “Madrid” design, the chunky midsole is also dressed in a dark brown colorway.
The adidas City Series “Madrid” is due to release via select stockists including HANON on February 12.
