TAG Heuer Launches Porsche Partnership With Carrera Chronograph
The new partnership will take in watches, Formula E, golf, tennis and esports.
TAG Heuer and Porsche, two of the biggest names in their respective fields have joined forces to create a wide-ranging partnership taking in watches, motorsport, sports and esports.
The first physical product of the collaboration is the TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph, a 44mm stainless steel chronograph using the Calibre Heuer 02 automatic movement with 80-hours of power reserve.
Porsche’s aesthetic traits are clear for all to see, from the red, black and grey color scheme, the engraved and lacquered Porsche branding on the watch’s black ceramic tachymeter bezel and the steering wheel design of the winding rotor visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. A new pitted dial surface finish has also been developed specifically for this watch, designed to give the appearance of asphalt.
The appliqué double digit five-minute markers are also deep filled with white-to-green Super-LumiNova to ensure optimum legibility in low light conditions.
As well as future watch releases, the collaboration will take in motorsport (the pair already work together in Formula E with the TAG Heuer Porsche team, virtual racing with the Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup as well as golf and tennis.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph is available to buy, on either a stainless steel bracelet or embossed black calfskin strap priced $6,050 USD and $5,850 USD respectively from TAG Heuer.
Elsewhere in watches, Roger Dubuis introduces new, smaller case size with a trio of flying tourbillons.
