Dr. Dre seems to be opening up about his recent divorce and hospitalization in a new track with KXNG Crooked.

DJ Silk took to Instagram Live to share a preview of the collaboration, which hears Dre rapping over his distinct piano-laden beats. The music icon’s bars are straightforward: “Trying to kill me with them lies and that perjury / I see you trying to f*ck me while I’m in surgery / In ICU, death bed, on some money shit / Greedy b*tch, take a pick / Girl you know how money get.”

At the start of 2021, Dre was sent to the ICU after suffering a brain aneurysm but was pictured back in the studio by mid-January. He was joined by friends and previous collaborators like The D.O.C., Focus…, Trevor Lawrence Jr. and Dem Jointz in several photos, with the latter captioning his Instagram post “And We Back!! #Detox21.” This, of course, ignited rumors that Dre’s sought-after Detox album is finally dropping this year.

Prior to his brain aneurysm scare, Dre’s now-ex-wife Nicole Young filed for divorce after 24 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences and accusing him of abuse. Recent court documents obtained showed Young alleging that the producer held a gun to her head twice in 2000 and 2001, punched her “in the head/face” in 1999 and 2000 and that he “kicked down a door” while she was trying to hide “from his rage” in 2016. Dre responded in court saying that “at no time did I ever abuse Nicole or threaten her physical safety,” but Young called this “a blatant lie.”

Elsewhere in music, Daft Punk has officially announce their split.
