Nanushka Balances Beauty and Functionality for Pre-Fall '22

Nanushka returns with its Pre-Fall 2022 collection that illustrates the balance between beauty and functionality. Titled Lifted Functionalism, the new collection furthers the brand’s elevated ethos by studying the harmony of design and intuition.

The collection’s exhibition of sensual silhouettes and utilitarian design notes is coupled with the usage of tonal layering. Whether it be warm shades like light taupe, beige, brown and camel or darker hues like black, slate gray and olive green, the tones melt against the body creating supple illustrations of elegance. The timeless color palette is complemented by an array of fabrics that include poplin, twill, double wool, satin and vegan leather.

“For Pre-Fall 2022, we’re creating a bridge between intuitive and functional design. We’re really pushing the boundaries of what makes a garment functional, building an aesthetic style with a subverted yet elevated relationship to our key values of practicality, comfort and tradition,” said Nanushla creative director, Sandra Sandor. “In Lifted Functionalism, we show that typically functional materials and silhouettes can be beautiful; and typically beautiful materials and silhouettes can be functional.”

Adding a contemporary lens to traditional nomadic dressing, men’s garments feature poplin tailoring, a range of jackets, relaxed pants constructed from a variety of fabrics, wool hoodies, knitwear and more. A collection highlight includes elongated shawl and cape garments that elevate both tailored and casual ensembles. Other focal pieces include outerwear pieces like a multi-pocket olive-green puffer, a slightly oversized black leather jacket and a tan cacoon-style jacket.
