Vacheron Constantin Reveals The Mechanism Behind Its Latest Complete Calendars
An open dial and sapphire crystal components reveal the watch’s inner workings.
Vacheron Constantin has dropped a pair of complete calendars with open dials and sapphire crystal calendar wheels.
The Traditionelle Complete Calendar Openface model offers a modern aesthetic to a very traditional watch and complication, in a similar style to Vacheron Constantin’s Traditionelle Twin Beat perpetual calendar from 2019.
The polished round 41mm case with slim bezel is complemented with a fluted or coin edge caseback while the dial adopts a railway track for minutes, Dauphine hands and a peripheral date indication with central pointer.
The open design of the dial has been further accentuated with sapphire crystal Day and Month wheels revealing even more of the workings of the Calibre 2460 QCL/2 movement beneath. Even the watch’s moonphase wheel – which usually relies on a partial solid cover to indicate its current phase – is presented here with a translucent frosted screen of sapphire crystal.
Vacheron Constantin has treated the visible elements of the mainplate and bridges with an anthracite-color NAC galvanic treatment.
The Traditionelle Complete Calendar Openface is available now via Vacheron Constantin in both 18k pink gold and 18k white gold versions priced £40,200 GBP (approximately $53,000 USD).
Elsewhere in watches, Jay-Z spotted wearing Tiffany blue Patek Philippe 5711.
