Originally designed exclusively for Kanye West and JAY-Z to celebrate the release of their collaborative studio album and accompanying tour back in 2011, the Nike LeBron 9 “Watch The Throne” is now set to see an official release. The PE colorway of LeBron James‘ ninth signature shoe was gifted to the rappers and other friends of the basketball star

Lauded by sneakerheads when it was first revealed, the shoe features a black base accented by elements of gold and Riccardo Tisci-era Givenchy-like full print designs. The upper of the shoe features a tonal black Hyperfuse paneling and FlyWire base accompanied by hits of gold. The gold element is continued on the oversized lace locks inspired the cover of the Watch the Throne album. Additional detailing comes in the form of bright and bold multicolor prints found on the laces and sockliner. Finally, elevating the shoe are gold speckled black midsoles assisted by transparent Air units paired with icy blue rubber outsole segments.

Priced at $200 USD, the Nike LeBron 9 “Watch The Throne” is now expected to release sometime late 2021 or early 2022.
