Continuing with its Old Skool Cap LX line, Vans has introduced two colorways — multicolored and black — to its deconstructed sneaker as a playful take on its classic silhouette.

On both iterations, the contrasted patchwork explores some of the skate brand’s most iconic designs, applying them to its most recognized silhouette. Starting at the toe box is a psychedelic stretched flower which moves to a So-Cal-inspired floral lateral upper. This is juxtaposed by Vans’ signature checkerboard overlay to the front and tartan print covering the heel. The inside upper consists of dotted embroidery into the mesh with a striped overlay contrasting toward the toe. The eyelets are covered by suede, striped, and digi-camo patches with a ribbed tab running down one side, whilst the double tongue is a merger of all the sneaker’s design.

The sponged collar is split into two halves, featuring a digi-camo design and cloudy print on either side. The same sponge material is transferred to Vans’ signature stripe to create a floating illusion. With various tabs across the sneaker, the most prominent is Vans’ “Please Tear Here” tag protruding from the tartan heel, and its branded “OFF THE WALL” heel plate turned on its head.

Both colorways are available to buy now from the HBX webstore retailing for $112 USD.
