UNDERCOVER FW21 Delivers Painterly Flourishes and Collaborative Nike Dunks
The Japanese label delivers easy, cozy cold weather layers.

After delivering a fully digital lookbook for Spring/Summer 2021, UNDERCOVER has returned to stylized lookbooks for Fall/Winter 2021. This new collection is very much in the Japanese brand’s wheelhouse, presenting graphic outerwear, statement patterns, a muted color palette and new collaboration with Nike.
Asserting that the collection was “designed by twisting the everyday clothes that you are accustomed to wearing,” UNDERCOVER presents a host of wearable silhouettes informed by gently updated wardrobe staples. Zipper-laden bomber jackets, reworked overcoats and parkas emblazoned with Markus Akesson’s paintings are layered atop wool cardigans, graphic intarsia sweaters and a host of slim pants, primarily leggings and sweatpants. Elsewhere, Eastpak lends its storage skills to several deep-pocketed jackets realized in both neutral and bright shades, accompanied by some see-through backpacks.
Offered alongside slim mary jane-style sneakers and bulky leather derbies is UNDERCOVER’s new Nike collaboration, an apparent remix of the Dunk Hi. On its rear, the tall monochrome sneaker sports large “CHAOS” and “GLEICHGEWICHT” (German for “Balance”) text and smaller prints that read “NEUES (“New”) LEBEN” (“Life”) and “NEUER (“Newer”) Lärm” (“Noise”), standing out starkly against the otherwise tonal leather uppers. Each shoe is further elevated by speckled midsoles, an additional graphic splash for the otherwise understated sneakers.
Get even closer with the new lineup on UNDERCOVER’s website before it launches later this year. Expect news about the new Nikes to trickle out after summer.
As Fashion Month continues, Fall/Winter 2021 collections have been presented by SANKUANZ, RHUDE and Fendi.
