SHOES 53045 Introduces the Sock'Air Silhouette
Inspired by the comforts of being at home during a pandemic.
David Tournaire-Beauciel‘s futuristic sneaker label SHOES 53045 unveils its latest silhouette – Sock’Air.
Guiding the brand in new direction through a low-profile aesthetic, the newest addition to the SHOES 53045 family merges the brand’s signature full-length bubble air sole with a knitted sock upper, released in all white and black/red colorway. Continuing its eco-friendly initiative, the Sock’Air stays leather free and with each purchase the brand will plant one tree, with over 15,000 planted to date.
The Sock’Air is a reinterpretation of SHOES 53045 very first sneaker experiment back in 2016 designed to give the impression of walking in the street with socks. It is inspired by a mix of cultural references, namely the Tabi boot — a traditional Japanese sock for workers — and the all-whites worn by 70s tennis player Jimmy Connors.
Conveying the shared consensus of the importance of comfy-wear during the current pandemic, Tournaire says, “After spending months at home in pajamas, we all want to keep this sensation of home and comfort everywhere we are…Sock’Air is an answer to that — the possibility to walk around outside with the feeling of being at home.”
To celebrate its launch, SHOES 53045 has curated another drop-themed Spotify playlist titled “SOCKS APPEAL” featuring chilled tracks for daytime listening at home, in line with the drop’s comfort.
