Doubled-Up Details Abound on the sacai x Nike Blazer Low "Classic Green"
The Japanese brand’s chopped-down Blazer continues founder Chitose Abe’s “twice as nice” collaborative ethos.
sacai and Nike have made doubled-up detailing a pillar of their collaborative relationship since 2019’s LDV Waffle and Blazer, and they’re set to continue that “twice as nice” ethos in 2021 with a handful of new Blazer Low collaborations — one of which is the “Classic Green.” Mixing simple base shades with vivid, time-tested Nike Sportswear hues, the “Classic Green” is sacai founder Chitose Abe‘s modernized salute to one of the most seminal shoes in the Swoosh’s lifestyle lineup.
Uppers boast a gray leather base that sits atop a precariously stacked white midsole and traditional gum outsole. Both the lateral and medial sides feature two Swooshes: a white iteration that dips down into the midsole and, above it, a “Classic Green” Swoosh that rises into the heel. Eyestays are doubled up as well, with a chilly blue bottom piece overlaid by a “Classic Green” top layer. These eyestays are strung with white and green laces alike, and the dual detailing is completed by an eggshell-colored foam tongue with a Nike Sportswear badge above an icy blue foam tongue with a standard Nike badge. Nike/Sacai hits on insoles and heels alike complete the look.
At the time of writing, a release date for the sacai x Nike Blazer Low “Classic Green” has yet to be revealed. However, early reports place its arrival at sometime in February.
