Cardi B gave fans a sneak peek into the budgets of her music video, confirming that some of these high-quality visuals do not come cheap.

Speaking to fans on Twitter, the Invasion of Privacy rapper revealed that her collaborative “WAP” music video with Megan Thee Stallion cost $1 million USD to make, while “Please Me” landed at $900,000 USD and “Money” at $400,000 USD. The steep price tag of “WAP” reflected in the quality of the visual, which also featured appearances from the likes of Kylie Jenner, Rubi Rose, Normani and Rosalía, and proved to be money well spent with the records it set in 2020.

Cardi went on to share the budgets of her other music videos. “Bartier Cardi” cost $150,000 USD while her major label debut “Bodak Yellow” was created with $15,000 USD. “I was in Dubai and I said ….I gotta fly picture (videographer) out here,” she tweeted, continuing, “BOOM BOOM BANG ! Ya know the rest.”

She also revealed that her now-husband Offset had a $40,000 USD wardrobe fee that forced her to go over the $15,000 USD budget for the “Lick” visual. “…I had to pay it out my pocket cause I didn’t wanna look like a small artist with a tiny a*s music video budget …..I told him like a year later,” she wrote, adding, “We shot the video at a casino in a Holiday Inn in Jersey and I was embarrassed cause it look so low budget and Set was about to pull up and I barely knew him so I was so shy and when he kissed me on camera my heart sinked.”

Elsewhere in music, Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free’s pgLang unveiled a collab with Calvin Klein.
