Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion Link up for Raunchy Collab "WAP"
The lead single off Cardi B’s upcoming sophomore record.
Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion have shared their collaborative new track, “WAP.”
The cut is Cardi B’s first main release since 2019’s “Press,” and is billed as the lead single of her upcoming untitled sophomore album. In a recent interview, she revealed that “WAP” actually stands for “Wet A*s P*ssy” and why Megan Thee Stallion was the perfect feature for the song. “The song is really nasty. The song always been nasty,” she said. “My verses and the hook has been the same since before Megan was there. So it just always been a nasty song and it’s like, ‘Who’s saying more nastier things than Megan?’”
“WAP” marks Megan Thee Stallion’s first feature since her recent recovery from multiple gunshot wounds. She emotionally spoke to fans on Instagram Live and gave them updates, saying, “I didn’t deserve to get shot. I didn’t do sh*t. And thank God that the bullets didn’t touch bones or break tendons… where the bullets hit at, they missed everything but the motherf*ckers were in there.” She added, “But on a positive note, taking some time to myself has made me realize how to move forward.”
The duo also dropped the single’s accompanying music video which sees them at a beautiful mansion and sporting animal-print items, while celebrities such as Kylie Jenner make a special appearance.
