AMD Launches New Ryzen 5000 Series Mobile Processors for Next-Gen Laptops
Adding a premium HX series for gaming.

Three months after debuting its Ryzen 5000 CPU series for desktop computers, AMD has now announced its mobile counterpart over at CES 2021.
The new collection will offer two main tiers: the more powerful H series and the portability-minded U series. To give the former an extra push for processing power, all models are based around the same Zen 3 architecture as AMD’s desktop versions, with an additional HX series sitting at the top of the line. The U series is focused more on ultraportable laptops, and are based on the previous Zen 2 cores.
Various tech companies have already adopted these new mobile processors into their upcoming releases, with ASUS diving heavily into AMD’s top-line offerings. The brand new ROG Flow X13 will carry the 5980HS, while both the Zephyrus Duo SE and the Strix SCAR series will be equipped with the 5900HX.
