adidas Originals Draws From Luxurious Moccasins for ZX 9000 YCTN
Premium black suede, leather and nubuck is contrasted with “Z” and “X” stitching.
adidas Originals continues to flesh out its “A-ZX” series with a new entry for “Y,” presenting the ZX 9000 YCTN.
YCTN, or Yucatan to give it its full name, relates to the moccasin-inspired elements found all around this luxurious and incredibly elevated take on the ZX 9000. Served in black suede with premium nubuck and leather details, this pair is adidas Originals’ ode to attention to detail and sophisticated design details, drawing on the formal cues of a moccasin.
As a result, the Three Striped brand has added contrasting white stitching on the toe box area that reads “Z” on the right foot and “X” on the left. Elsewhere, leather has been used for the tongue tag, Torsion-branded lace lock, the Three Stripe-incorporating eyestay panel, the stripes on the mid-panel, on the heel, and for the interior lining.
Luxurious elements don’t end there. The usual plastic ZX heel cage is now crafted from nubuck and is contrast-stitched, the vamp and tongue is detailed with zig-zag finished edges like you’d find on a moccasin, and a suede stripe in beige has been added on the medial side for another touch of contrast, although it does match part of the interior lining and the sole unit.
As we move down the shoe, you’ll find a creamy-hued Torsion-equipped sole unit that’s rounded out with a black outsole. Completing the look is a removable moccasin fringe collar, once more enhancing its “Y is for YTCN” credentials.
