Stormzy Honors Chadwick Boseman, Marcus Rashford and Little Simz in "Superheroes" Visual
“I’m young, black, beautiful and brave.”
Stormzy is revisiting his stellar December 2019 album Heavy Is The Head with a visual for “Superheroes.”
The animated music video, directed Taz Tron Delix, pays homage to modern-day Black icons such as Marcus Rashford, Little Simz, author Malorie Blackman, Dave and Venus and Serena Williams. It further tells the story of the power and capabilities of the Black community, showing folks excelling at everything from parenthood and school, and reminding them of the importance of self-love.
Stormzy also shows his support for the Black Lives Matter movement with animated street art and a crowd on their knees, along with a sign that reads “I’m young, black, beautiful [and] brave.” The visual ends with a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman: “Forever a Superhero in our hearts.”
