Strong With the Force, This 'Star Wars' X adidas UltraBOOST "Yoda" Is
Celebrate the 40th anniversary of ‘The Empire Strikes Back’, it does.
Star Wars and adidas are continuing their extensive celebration of The Empire Strikes Back‘s 40th anniversary with a new UltraBOOST “Yoda.” Joining special silhouettes for the film’s other major characters — Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Boba Fett, C-3PO and Lando Calrissian — the diminutive, riddle-tongued Jedi Master’s UBs are dressed in a commemorative color scheme and loaded up with special details.

Flexible Primeknit uppers are dressed in a flecked mixture of olive and white, while structure is provided by olive leather midfoot cages and heel clips — both rimmed by bright neon green trim. If you look closely, you’ll also see that the leather features a cracked print that shows off more neon green. Three Stripe graphics are done up in black, and lateral sides offer a debossed, reversed “BOOST Ultra” hit, a nod to Yoda’s habit of speaking backwards.
Tongues present a portrait of Yoda with his lightsaber, with heels split between an extended lightsaber on the left and a block letter “Yoda” spellout on the right. Co-branded insoles feature a printed still from The Empire Strikes Back, with Yoda’s “difficult to see, always in motion is the future” quote. Olive midsoles and black Continental rubber outsoles round off the look.
The Star Wars x adidas UltraBOOST “Yoda” will release at retailers like Asphalt Gold on September 17, and is priced at $180 USD.
