Elon Musk Surpasses Mark Zuckerberg to Become the World's Third Richest Man

Just 10 days after he became the world’s fourth-richest man, CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and the Boring Company Elon Musk has now overtaken Mark Zuckerberg as the third richest man on Earth.

His new move up the ranks is thanks to Tesla stocks surging once again following a forward stock split. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Musk is now worth a staggering $115.4 billion USD, roughly $5 billion USD over Zuckerberg’s $110.8 billion USD. Musk saw his net worth rise by $87.8 billion USD just this year as Tesla’s stock price rocketed up by almost 500 percent. On top of this, he also unlocked three of the 12 tranches of stock options the electric car maker granted him when he signed on as CEO, which could amount to a total payout of $50 billion USD — the largest payday for any American CEO ever.

In other business-related news, Gap Inc. has announced another 225 store closures amid the coronavirus pandemic.
