BEAMS RECORDS Taps Thundercat for Finely Embroidered Patch
A nod to the artist’s most recent LP ‘It Is What It Is.’

BEAMS RECORDS and Thundercat have reunited for a second collaboration. Following their first project, referencing the artist’s track “Dragonball Durag” from back in February, the new co-sign is a nod to Thundercat’s most recent LP It Is What It Is.
Aoi Sangyo crafted the intricately threaded patch. It features a humorous portrait of the artist with three cats. Thundercat is depicted with thick-framed sunglasses, putting a cat against his face and caressing it. Another cat is seen climbing his shoulder, while the other rests in his arm. Subtle details like thin strands of Thundercat’s hair, his mustache, the rich leopard pattern on the artist’s blue jacket and some of his hand tattoos have also been incorporated onto the piece.
BEAMS RECORDS and Thundercat’s embroidered patch will be available on August 26 on BEAMS’ website for $35 USD.
In case you missed it, Thundercat has written “Grune’s Tune” for Cartoon Network’s ThunderCats Roar reboot.
