Vans and Shake Junt Would Like to Sell You Sneakers, Chicken and Waffles
But actually just sneakers. And tees. And a hat.
Vans is already the gold standard in skate shoes, but just to further its connections to the sport, the brand has created a new collection in collaboration with skateboarding crew Shake Junt. The collection features many of Vans’ Pro silhouettes along with a colorful set of tees and hoodies and that 2020 essential accessory, the bucket hat.
The Shake Junt collab features new colorways of four pro Vans silhouettes, befitting the collection’s aim to make styles for skaters, by skaters: the Kyle 2 Pro, Old Skool Pro, Slip-On Pro and Era Pro. Each features a colorway of predominately green and black with touches of cream and yellow. The apparel side of the collaboration meanwhile features Vans and Shake Junt cobranding, along with graphics like a menu of chicken, waffles and accompaniments (actual chicken and waffles are sold separately, however). Accessories like the bucket hat and socks feature added graphics of dollar signs, skateboards, chicken wings and bottles.
Shake Junt creates both skatboarding apparel like tees and beanies, as well as hardware like Shake Junt-branded bolts and griptape. It also represents both pro and amateur skaters, like Riley Hawk, Dee Ostrander and Victoria Ruesga. Currently, the brand is donating 100 percent of the proceeds from its “No Justice No Peace” tee to the South Los Angeles non-profit Social Justice Learning Institute.
You can shop the Shake Junt collaboration on Vans’ webstore now, with prices ranging from $15 to $80 USD. For more new sneaker collabs, check out the upcoming Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 1300CL capsule.
