Our Legacy and Stüssy Celebrate a Jazz Musician's Day at the Beach
Featuring upcycled deadstock fabric from the two labels.
Swedish label Our Legacy has partnered with Stüssy for a new collaboration that mixes the two brand’s individual characteristics. The collaboration sees the Our Legacy Work Shop initiative continue its upcycling focus, using deadstock materials from the two brands and mixing the fabrics to create something new.
Themed around the idea of “a jazz musician’s day at the beach,” the collection features Stüssy fabrics from the 1990s, which have been transformed into staple Our Legacy pieces such as oversized shirts and relaxed suiting. Additionally, unused Our Legacy materials have been used to create Stüssy beach essentials including water shorts and bucket hats. All of these pieces have been produced by Our Legacy.
Rounding off the collection is a selection of graphic T-shirts, long sleeves and hoodies, all of which feature a mixture of Our Legacy Work Shop’s yin and yang logo and Stüssy graphics. These items were produced by Stüssy.
Launching the collection, Our Legacy co-founder Jockum Hallin told Vogue Runway that Stüssy has been important to him for a long time, “When I think about it, I have circled back to Stüssy during many eras of my life.” In the same interview, Stüssy’s global brand director Fraser Avey described the project as ” kind of a mixture of Stüssy going into its archive and sharing fabric that was deadstock to reimagine some OL silhouettes, and then vice versa: OL going into its fabric archive and using those to reimagine some Stüssy silhouettes.”

The full collection will be split into three releases, arriving in Stockholm at Our Legacy stores and web store on August 21, then launching at Dover Street Market London and Stüssy’s U.K. web store on August 28. Finally the pieces will release through Dover Street Market L.A. and Stüssy’s global web store later that day. Each city’s launch will feature a specific and different product range.
