Watch the 'Yu-Gi-Oh!' Millennium Puzzle Get Solved in Real Life
A Japanese creator uses 3D printing to create the iconic item.
For Yu-Gi-Oh! fans, a Japanese creator recently put together a 3D-printed puzzle modeled after the series’ iconic Millennium Puzzle.
The iconic item stood at the center of the manga/anime series that debuted in 1996 and spawned a worldwide card game sensation. The Millenium Puzzle was solved by protagonist Yugi Mutou who then serves as a host for the spirit of the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Atem and unlocks the dark power of the Shadow Games.
Talented creator Sho Tozuka started with a computer model forming the key face eye piece and corner pieces for 3D printing. Over a month, Tozuka then broke down the pyramid design into smaller puzzle shapes. Printed in a brilliant gold-tone, the 39 interlocking pieces are housed in an accurate box. Tozuka then shows how he finishes the puzzle, revealing that pieces jut out until the pyramid shape is completed and is held together securely by hidden magnets.
