Warner Bros. is creating a permanent Harry Potter tour park in Tokyo.
Set to open in the first half of 2023, Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo — The Making of Harry Potter will be constructed at the site of the the 94-year-old theme park Toshiamen, which is set to close its doors this August 2020. The large-scale attraction, spread across 30,000 square meters, boasts of an indoor “soundstage” and an outdoor “backlot” area, exhibitions that feature the actual costumes and props used in the beloved film franchise and recreated sets of some of the most crucial scenes. Unlike London’s version of the Harry Potter tour, however, Tokyo’s will also highlight the franchise’s ongoing Fantastic Beasts spin-off.
The complex will need approximately half a day to fully explore, and will be accessible via a 15-minute train ride from downtown Tokyo’s Ikebukuro Station.
In other news, the Tiger King zoo is now permanently closed.
