Nike to Further Honor Kobe Bryant's Legacy With 'Mamba Week'
Announcing the release of new Kobe Protros and player jerseys.

Nike is further honoring Kobe Bryant with Mamba Week, a week-long celebration full of programming and retail launches celebrating the legacy of the late NBA star. Kicking off August 23, Mamba Week will be celebrated through three key efforts: a donation to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation expanded support for the Mamba League and the release of more Nike Kobe Protro shoes and player jerseys.
The Nike Foundation will be making a $1 million USD donation to the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation in memory of Bryant and his daughter, Gianna. These funds will be used to keep Kobe’s goal of helping kids in underserved communities remain active and stay on a path to success, along with providing equal sports opportunities for girls.
Furthermore, Nike will continue to support Bryant’s Mamba League partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs in Los Angeles. The league will provide kids with a place to learn the fundamentals of basketball and to be inspired by the game, recruiting an equal number of girls and boys and engaging female coaches. The Mamba League, which was created in 2017, upholds the basketball player’s message of Mamba Mentality — “Work to get better every day, on and off the court.”
Lastly, Nike will be releasing more Kobe Protro iterations and limited quantities of Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers jersey. These products will begin dropping in late August just in time for Mamba Week.
