The G.I. Joe ‘Snake Eyes’ Movie Has Been Postponed
The latest movie release to be delayed by COVID-19.

Paramount has confirmed that its upcoming G.I. Joe sequel, which will focus on the character Snake Eyes, has been pushed back by a year. It was originally slated for release on October 23 2020, but will now release on October 22, 2021.
Though it was first announced over two years ago, the details around G.I. Joe Origins: Snake Eyes are still relatively murky. It will be directed by Robert Schwentke, best known for his work on the Divergent franchise, and will be written by Evan Spiliotopoulos, who also wrote The Huntsman: Winter’s War.
The film will focus on the origin story of Snake Eyes, a ninja who operates as part of the G.I. Joe special unit. In the first two movies within the franchises, he was played by the actor Ray Park. For the new film, Crazy Rich Asians star Henry Golding will pick up the title role, starring alongside actors including Andrew Koji, Samara Weaving, and Iko Uwais.
Back in February, Golding shared a teaser image of his character onto his Instagram page, showing the character photographed from behind and equipped with a katana at his side.
In other movie news, a host of Marvel actors have shared tributes to the late Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman.
