EARTHGANG Deliver Eccentric Flows in New Single "Powered Up"
Part of EA Sports’ soundtrack for ‘Madden NFL 21.’
EARTHGANG has dropped a brand new single titled “Powered Up,” just a week after the duo released visuals for “Top Down.” The song is part of the soundtrack for EA Sports‘ Madden NFL 21.
Measuring at exactly three minutes, the song opens with a lo-fi riff of vintage synths, before exploding into a colorful instrumental arrangement inspired by retro video games — courtesy of production by Ron “NEFF-U” Feemster. The entire beat is made up of a lively mix of speedy drum patterns and synths, laced with regal vocal harmonies. The duo delivers their usual eccentric flows, penning lines like “Overflowin’ with the sauce, I’m never holdin’ back, I’m goin’ / In my coffin, middle finger pokin’ through the casket” and “Baby doll, break a leg, electric lady, power sex / Sippin’ on the sun and a cup of Windex.” The high energy is maintained throughout the entire track, closing on the boisterous refrain “I’m powered up, it’s now or nothing.”
