WACKO MARIA and Vans Embellish Authentics With Japanese Folklore
Limited to just 1,000 pairs.
Vans has called in WACKO MARIA for a striking iteration of its Authentics. This collaboration follows Vans’ project with Maha on a pair of Dutch pastry-inspired OG Style 36 LXs unveiled just two days ago.
Set against a clean black canvas foundation, WACKO MARIA has embellished artful prints of Japanese folklore on the classic silhouette. Depictions of flames, mythical spirits, monsters and bondage are sporadically emblazoned throughout the uppers, complemented by crisp white laces and tonal top-stitching. All of these features rest over a crisp white midsole that sports black foxing and a red rubber heel stamp. The shoe also comes with a box that displays the same prints found on the shoe.
WACKO MARIA and Vans’ Authentics will see a limited Japan-exclusive run of just 1,000 pairs, slated to release on July 11 on WACKO MARIA’s website for $93 USD.
