WACKO MARIA Gives Its Lee and Wrangler Jackets a Leopard Bite
The Tokyo label keeps the classic workwear cuts intact and saves its edits for the collars and fabrics.
Summary
WACKO MARIA’s next FW26 delivery includes two American denim collaborations, a Lee Denim Storm Rider and a Wrangler Corduroy Wrange Jacket
The Lee comes in black or indigo denim, both finished with a leopard-print pile collar
The Wrangler arrives in black corduroy with a leopard collar or in all-over leopard-print corduroy offset by a black pile collar
WACKO MARIA is folding a Lee Denim Storm Rider and a Wrangler Corduroy Wrange Jacket into its latest FW26 delivery, reworking two classic American outerwear staples with the Tokyo label’s signature leopard. Each jacket keeps the bones of its heritage pattern intact, then swaps in plush pile collars and print details that pull both pieces firmly into WACKO MARIA territory.
The Lee Storm Rider sticks close to its rugged roots in its denim body, offered in black and indigo washes with brass buttons running down the front. WACKO MARIA’s intervention comes at the neckline, where a leopard-print pile collar replaces the usual lining fabric, and the same print continues along the inside of the front placket so the pattern flashes through when the jacket is worn open. Both washes carry the identical collar treatment, letting the denim tone set the mood while the leopard stays constant.
The Wrangler side of the drop shifts from denim to cotton corduroy, with a woven label inside that identifies the piece as the Wrangler Wrange Coat. The black version is built with copper snap buttons and a pair of oversized patch pockets, topped by a wide leopard pile collar carrying joint Wrangler and WACKO MARIA branding. Its beige counterpart flips that formula entirely, cutting the whole body from leopard-print corduroy and grounding it with a solid black pile collar.
Taken together, the two collaborations show how WACKO MARIA approaches heritage workwear, leaving the familiar silhouettes, hardware and fabrics largely untouched and concentrating its changes on texture and print. The leopard motif ties both jackets to the rest of the label’s FW26 delivery, which leans heavily on the same pattern across its outerwear and accessories.
