BAPE Celebrates 40th Anniversary of 'Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back'
Featuring apparel and Medicom Toy BE@RBRICK and VCD figures.
BAPE is commemorating the 40th anniversary of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back with an apparel and figure collection.
The collab is fronted by a lineup of T-shirts that incorporate some of the brand’s signature motifs, including the camo print that arrives in both the classic green, black and brown rendition and a monochromatic finish over the Star Wars logo and Darth Vader’s helmet respectively. BAPE’s electric “STA” icon is also fused with the film’s iconic poster, while the franchise’s staple characters are designed with the MILO touch.
On top of the apparel, BAPE and Medicom Toy created colorful BE@RBRICK and VCD figures that pay homage to Boba Fett. Both models utilize the camo print, with the BE@RBRICK opting for scratched details that depict his weathered Durasteel helmet and the VCD offered with a silver dent that harks back to his duel against Cad Bane.
The Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back x BAPE collection drops August 1 at BAPE brick-and-mortar stores, the BAPE webstore, ZOZOTOWN and the MEDICOM TOY physical and webstore.
