Smino, JID and Kenny Beats Debut New Collaborative Track "Baguetti"
“I need a minute to meditate.”
We’ve known since February that Smino, JID and Kenny Beats had something special in the works after the St. Louis musician took to Twitter to hint at a collaboration looming in the near future. Today, we finally get to hear it after a few preliminary leaks of an unfinished version back in June. On “Baguetti,” the two emcees reminisce on past failed relationships, their individual growth in the hip-hop industry and taking some time out of their busy schedules to simply breathe and meditate.

The chemistry is real. The duo last connected on Dreamville‘s GRAMMY-nominated Revenge of the Dreamers III. With “Baguetti” we get rapid-fire flows and Smino’s penchant for melody weaving through his verse. Each line seamlessly melds into the next. “Wow, preach, preacher, I love it/ Duck back, divvy up the buckets/ You ain’t put a penny in a bucket/ Pass the plate around, ‘Last Supper’/ Lotta sh*t changed since last summer,” he raps.
Meanwhile JID waxes about cultivating a movement with Dreamville. “You know your favorite ain’t f*ckin’ with Jiddeth/ They’re takin’ flavor, they’ll come to the city/ And push it to labels with the majors/ And you thinking you made it/ But haha, don’t play yourself/ Born and raised here/ Been a slave in a grave, I’ll prolly decay here.” Stream Smino’s latest single below.
