Carefree's Mizuno Sky Medal Collaboration Is a Homage to the '90s
Simple, but effectively bold.
Damian Malontie‘s London-based label Carefree has combined its laidback aesthetic with Mizuno‘s heritage to create a fittingly ’90s-esque Sky Medal sneaker.
The Mizuno Sky Medal is constructed from a mixture of white leather, “Jasper Green” mesh, and synthetic materials that appear in bright colors including purple and red. Malontie has made the pair look as original as possible — the toe box is finished in white mesh, the Mizuno logo on the side serves plenty of retro feels with its glossy fading red colorway, and even the campaign imagery oozes a ’90s attitude.

On the rear of the sneaker, you’ll find Carefree’s signature logo, while the aglets are finished with black branding. Embroidered Mizuno branding in red and green appears on the white leather tongue, while elements such as a black outsole and white laces round out the sneaker.
